We passed a Mercedes G-Wagon while driving the other day and Caden says, "Bus, Bus."
Ha...sorry buddy, I don't think that's the vehicle you'll be taking to school.

Life at the Phipps Residence.
Parker is constantly under attack by his big, overly loving brother. This picture says it all.
These two rock around the clock, two straws in a smoothie sweethearts just can't get enough of each other.
Okay, not exactly...Caden has become mildly obsessed with his dad these last few weeks. I'm talking, the second he wakes up he's yelling for dad, running through the house looking for him in a fit of panic. Bryan doesn't always share the sentiments. I believe as he ran and hid in the bathroom he called him his tumor: don't really want it but it wont go away.
Caden thinks the world is better though Mr. Potatohead glasses.
And mom this one is for you...the only picture of you and the boys. ;)Sunday, January 24, 2010

Parker's Newborn Portraits
We are so blessed to have Lesley around! She came over when Parker was just 6 days old and did a 3 hour photoshoot for us. She did such an incredible job of capturing just how I see my family. Looking at these brought me to tears. (She also came to the hospital when he was a day old and captured some moments which I will post later!!) I am dying over the shots. And dying over my boys.
Looking at these priceless pictures just fills me with so much happiness. I love being a mother. I love every second of it. I am thankful beyond words for these amazing little men that have come into our lives, bringing us endless amounts of laughter and joy. And I am thankful to have such a loving husband to share those moments with.

In the last 24 hours,
we've done tummy time twice,
Parker hated it,
hated it with a passion,
so what did my 2 week old do?
HE ROLLED OVER,
BOTH TIMES.
I have this feeling that I am in so much trouble...

Life is insane but I'm taking 5 seconds for myself and writing this stuff down.
And he has gained 2 pounds in 2 weeks. Little hulk. He runs--pretty sure he doesn't even know how to walk--for 16 hours straight so I have no idea how that happened....
Parker's 2 week stats are as follows:
This boy loves to sleep. I didn't know newborns were supposed to be like this after Caden. I mean, I had to put a cold wash clothe on him to try and wake him up to eat, no luck. Caden then proceeded to turn on his CD player to the loudest volume possible and he just kept on sleeping. Wish he would have just slept through his circumcision today... :(
Caden is picking up on words left and right. Toaster, smoothie, Grandma, Amen, Parky...
The other day we ask him a question and what does this kid respond with?!?
"Si."
Yes, apparently he is bilingual.

Height: 21 inches

Along with a few sayings: All Park and no Bite.
I have decided that sometimes Heavenly Father just wants to give us something to laugh about down the road. Brand new baby, start of the last semester of school, and I get a call from my poor husband to come and pick him up, begging me to take him to the ER. I believe the text that followed while he was waiting for a ride (since I had given my mom the car that day), went something like this: "I just really want those onion rings that we had while we were at the hospital for Parker and need a ride."

Prognosis: Bulging disk. Luckily we like to laugh around here and Bry's pretty hilarious on pain meds.
Last night he made a valiant effort to help with the baby, even while on the heavy drugs. At 2:30 he gets up with him, but turns on all the bedroom lights along with a movie and says to me..."You better still be sleeping." Asking the impossible?!? I look up at him 20 minutes later, his movie still going, but his eyes shut. I ask him why he doesn't shut off his computer because he's clearly asleep. "I'm listening with my EARS." He doesn't remember this.

Me, I am LOVING being a mommy of 2!!! And would like to send a special thank you out to both our mothers for being so incredible these last few weeks. We love you both so much, and appreciate all your help!!
I think this is about all I need to remember from this week. Signing off. 10-4 good buddies.

Flashback to Christmas
Since it will be our first and last Christmas in Utah we wanted to go down to the Salt Lake Temple to see the lights. Sometimes I am still in awe that we were married in such a beautiful, special place. Well, our idea was great in theory, but Caden was NOT impressed and cried the entire time. We even got him a cookie and hot chocolate at the Nauvoo Cafe and that just brought more tears.
We tried to carry on one of the Phipps family traditions but we couldn't find a single Chinese food restraunt open on Christmas Eve night. That was a bummer. I think Bryan was in deep, deep depression. So we headed home and carried on a Hoggatt family tradition: watched the Christmas devotional and let Caden open one present.

Christmas morning was so fun with Caden being a year older.
He came down to see his Santa stuff and had the cutest, most excited look on his face. The night before Bryan and I had made a bet as to whether he would run to his juice or slide first. The juice won.

After a morning of opening presents and spending time with just the 3 of us we headed to my Aunt Allene's for a delicious Christmas lunch. We got to spend time there with my cousins and grandparents. Then that night we were able to have our close friends, the Cope's, over for Christmas dinner.
Caden got a train table from Grandma Jolene and Bumpa. He LOVED it. The big hug for dad after Bryan set it up shows just how excited he was.
