Moved

Last night we spent our first night in our new home. It felt like staying in a nice hotel or something. I'm sure soon enough it will really start to feel like our home. Paul, Jolene, and Megan have been such a huge helping in finishing everything. I'm so pleased with the way it's all coming together. They got the built in bookshelves put together in the study, the bathroom flooring finished, all the paint touched up, doors repainted for the 400th time--and it all looks great! Last night our wonderful friends helped us move all the big stuff over. We are so grateful for them! Now we just have TONS of organizing to do.

Wii are Bowling.

Bryan's family got here yesterday for a week of fun and to drop our new housemate, Megan, off. Last night we went to Rowberry's for a BBQ and ended up getting some major entertainment from the Wii. Now normally I am no good at bowling, in fact I am quite bad. In my immediate family I was an outcast because of my lack of bowling skills, a grave disappointment to my father; but last night was a different story. (One that I am rather excited to tell.)
The competition:
Grandma Phipps-she got a strike and I've never seen her happier.

Jolene (I guess finger pointing while bowling runs in the family)

Kimbra
Alan
Bryan
Megan

Now for all of you that know my husband, you know he is very competitive and hmmm, shall we say, very confident in his abilities. This competition was no different. He went in talking big, saying he was going to waste everyone...blah blah blah....you get the point. At the start of this friendly rivalry I was planning to be a spectator only. Bryan talked so much trash to me that I had to play even if I got brutally beaten.
The winner: (look at that form)
To give you a preview of what's to come in the middle of the game Alan looks and Bryan and says "You disappoint me." Okay I know you are all dying of suspense:
Bryan not only lost, he lost to his mother, his sister, his cousins, his wife, AND HIS GRANDMA! In the words of my father in law, "Bryan I don't see any way to counter blog your way out of this one." That's right, I wasted Bryan! Rubbed his face in the dirt, beat him to a pulp. I am the champion. I believe the final score was 205 to 164. I can count on Bryan correcting me if I'm wrong however. I'm also sure in Bryan's recap he'll give some sob story about his shoulder coming out of his socket which shouldn't be taken into account. His antics don't fly--he lost fair and square.

Sunbeams!

Jesus wants me for a sunbeam...

Bryan and I got a new calling in church on Sunday into the Primary teaching the little 3 and 4 year old sunbeams. We are super excited about it! Bryan has already weaseled his way into the heart of one of the shy silent boys; by the end of church he was leaning his head on Bry and didn't want to leave his side. I think we are in for quite an adventure. During the lesson Sunday the kids were asked if they had to choose 3 of 6 items to take on a trip what would it be, one of these items being scriptures. It was hilarious! None of the youngest ones chose them--when given the option they were like "no way I want the money!"

Outhouse Anyone?

I promise these will be the very last pictures of us working on the house...but I thought this was too funny to not share. So we officially finished all the painting last night and Bryan got started on the bathroom floors. I had a little delay getting started due to a forgetful husband. Since we only have one house key to the new place he said he'd run over and unlock it for me before he went to Lowes. Somehow in the five steps to his car his managed to forget! I lock our current house and run over to the new one to start working only to be left outside with people starring at my amazing outfit.

Bry had to take the toilet out to lay the bathroom floor (which I am so happy with how it's turning out!) After I'd finished painting I walk outside to this. :)

*FIRST ICEE*

I really feel so very blessed to be married to this man! Last night I came home from work to Bryan making Baja Burritos since I can't have the real ones from Baja Fresh. Then after dinner he opens the freezer to ICEES!!!!!!!! Last summer our friends introduced us to the best icee shack ever at the Scera Pool. Lets just say we got addicted quick and it became one of our favorite things about Utah summers. We've been driving by the shack for the past couple of weeks to see if it had opened yet; each time we were disappointed. Last night Bryan surprised me and I got my first taste of my favorite flavor--Strawberry Daiquiri. I'm very lucky to have a husband that takes such good care of me!

"You look like a Pig Sty"

Josh and Steph stopped by last night to see how things were going. As I'm opening the door I say "sorry it's really a pig sty in here." And Josh looks at me and says "More like you look like a pig sty." A perfect discription of my attire after painting.

I had to use Crouching Tiger Style for painting the bathroom. Yes that's me up on the counter, and I also got to hug the toliet for a half an hour to try and paint behind it. Just down right disgusting.

At 11:00 when we finally finished our bedroom!!! We were a little worn out after a full day of real world work and a full night of house work. And I was a little goofy. But we were also thrilled because this will be our room for the next 3 years!
