First Food

We gave Caden his first Rice Cereal. Oh so entertaining. He went through lots of emotions in that ten minutes. We knew he had had enough when he tilted his head up, did his tight lip, and gave me the "don't even think about it" look. You'd think the kid was two. I'm hoping he's smart like his mom and thinks cereal is the most disgusting food ever...right next to eggs. (Sooo happy when the doctor told Bryan kids can't try eggs til 15 months!!!!!!)

Caden has also decided he wants to be mobile. It started with the head/army crawl. He'd burrow his head into the ground and push forward with his toes. Now's he's slowly learning to keep his head up and go for the toys. I can tell he's feeling quite accomplished. I, on the other hand, am not sure how I feel about this...
Am I excited about the milestone or should I hobble his feet?!? :)

Today we headed down to West Jordan with the Phipps Family to experience Gardner Village. Bryan and I had never been and loved it! It had the cutest little shops and was decorated for Halloween. (Kristen you should move back and sell your bows here!) We went to the Sweets Shop and got delicious carmel apples. Bryan loved them so much that he stole mine.I LOVE the Fall season. They had the coolest colors and fall decorations everywhere. Caden was enjoying having extra family around. Bumpa and Grandma spoiled him rotten while they were here. And as always Megan and Jarom are so good with him. Bryan's favorite picture is the one of him whispering to me: "Let me tell you a secret Ashley. I'm done taking pictures with you." We had a great time day stopping in the little shops, eating carmel apples, and sipping hot chocolate....and of course people watching. After Gardner Village we ordered pizza and watch the BYU Homecoming game. Of course our 8th in the nation Cougs won! Woo-Hoo.

Living in the Moment

I was thinking about how horrible I am about living in the moment. I am always worried about what's next; always thinking about how life will be in the future. Yet another reason I am so thankful for our baby is that he blesses me with the gift of enjoying the present. Each precious moment with him I wish I could freeze in time.

New Toy

Weeks ago we got Caden a new saucer toy. He was getting bored with his other "toys" and when we put him in this at babies R us he was SO happy. We probably shouldn't have gotten it since Tami is sending one out next week but he was just so dang cute in it. Yes, I know, we spoil him already. I prefer to look at it as an investment, not just for him, but for future children as well. :)Some days he loves it and will play in it forever...Other days he's not so impressed...

Bryan's reply: "Big girls don't cry Caden."

So sensitive.

Ashley & Bry Moment:

Me: Okay so maybe after next year I'll be able to get that bag I really want, and shop at that store I love, and maybe just maybe we'll be able to get that new car.
Bry: All I will be to you is an ATM.
Me: Well then that's all I was to you for the last 2 1/2 years.
Bry: HA! You were more like a piggy bank...a four year old's piggy bank....a four year old from the 1950's piggy bank.

Our Four Month Old BOY:I found this awesome photography site Mamarazzi School. How cute is that name?!? I'm sure Caden feels like I'm the mamarazzi! So I was reading about how to shot in RAW format. I'm a total amateur but I love the vibrancy of RAW photos and wanted to try it. We went to Nielsen's Grove and took some photos. Then I got to try Adobe Camera Raw on Bryan's new Photoshop. It is AMAZING and so easy to use! I'm pretty excited! So like I said, I'm an amateur but I love these photos and it's a fun little hobby to entertain me. Caden is a BOY. Pure BOY. Period. His new favorite trick is spitting. Yes, already spitting. Great. He goes around all day making spitting sounds and I follow around with wipes in hand. He gets mad...you put him upside down...he's happy again. Whatever you want buddy.
So long...until the mamarazzi attacks again.
